The movie beings by introducing its protagonist Gouri (Asha Sharath), an orphan who marries truck driver Khalid (Lal) and seems to have meaning in her life. However, she is forced to kill the owner of the orphanage she works in after realising that he was trying to rape one of the inmates. The story takes off from there with Gouri and Khalid lives changing overnight.

Actress Asha Sharath gives life to Gouri and aptly portrays the different shades of emotions ranging from a fearful woman to a daring one who takes law into her own hands. Supporting Gouri in proving her innocence is her husband, well acted by Lal. Though he had limited scenes, Khalid is sure to move hearts.

Other actors who supported them were, Sunil Sugatha, Renji Panicker, Nedumudi Venu, Maniyanpilla Raju, Joy Mathew, Sijoy Varghese, Sudhir Karamana, Sohan and Meera Nair.

The investigation team under Renji Panicker’s character leave the viewers confused in the first half, and the latter half too seemed too dramatic with the police providing proofs out of the blue to keep the plot progressing. The investigation scenes could have been presented well than just making cops walk around or sit around a table discussing facts. The sudden appearance of some characters too seemed unwanted.

With its short duration, the director has weaved a film that feels like reading a crime novella with almost all the elements. With a strong story, the makers had attempted to create a suspense flick and M Jayachandran’s background music has aided this. The film has also captured the beauty of the backwaters of Munroe Thuruthu.
